Fulfilling Career Dreams

I started my first teaching job out of college with the St. Louis Public School District in the fall of 2016. When I began, I aspired to one day further my career by pursing an advanced degree in educational administration and obtaining an administrator position within the district. With help from the Parsons Blewett Memorial Fund Traditional Scholarship, I received the financial support that I needed to pursue my career goals. I graduated with a master’s degree in educational administration from Missouri Baptist University in the fall of 2019 and obtained certification to serve as a building leader.

In the summer of 2022, I graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with an educational specialist degree and a focus on teacher leadership. Completing these graduate programs eventually opened other opportunities to serve in the St. Louis Public School District. I was a summer site leader in both 2022 and 2023, then in the summer of 2023 I applied and was hired as the assistant principal at Woerner Elementary. I’ve now worked in the St. Louis Public School District for 8 years. Thanks to the Parsons Blewett Memorial Fund Traditional Scholarship, I’ve been fortunate to reach my goals I set when I began my career.
